Vox Musicae International Festival and Academy
The VOX MUSICAE Foundation has big plans for the upcoming year: For the first time, an international music festival will take place in Jülich from July 20 to August 3, 2025. The VOX MUSICAE International Festival and Academy (VMIFA) offers young musicians aged 16 to 28 a unique opportunity to develop their talents and gain valuable orchestra experience. VMIFA expects more than 60 young top musicians from around the world, as well as faculty from the best orchestras in Europe.
The festival will feature two weeks of music, from small ensembles to a full symphony orchestra, participant concerts, and chamber music concerts by the faculty. In addition to working on orchestra and chamber music repertoire, there will be public masterclasses, workshops on various topics (e.g., musicians' health, studying music in Germany and the USA), and a competition. The winner will perform a solo with the festival orchestra. The festival will take place at the beginning of the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia, and it will directly follow the summer semester of German universities and colleges. Under Mayor Axel Fuchs's patronage and Prof. Stefan Palm's artistic direction, Jülich is expected to attract music enthusiasts from near and far.
To support cultural exchange among the young musicians, we are looking for host families who can accommodate one or more students.

Jülich ist eine Stadt mit einem reichhaltigen kulturellen Angebot. Musik in ihren unterschiedlichen Facetten gehört selbstverständlich dazu. Unsere Musikschule, Vereine, Chöre, Bands und Musikkapellen bieten zahlreiche Möglichkeiten die Freude an der Musik aktiv zu erleben.
Ich freue mich sehr, dass vom 20. Juli bis zum 3. August 2025 das VOX MUSICAE Internationale Festival und Akademie in Jülich stattfinden wird. Junge Spitzenmusiker aus der ganzen Welt sowie Dozenten aus den besten Orchestern in Europa werden hier zu Gast sein. Unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Prof. Stefan Palm werden sie gemeinsam Proben und in verschiedenen Konzerten ihr Können präsentieren. Mit ihren Konzerten werden sie vielen Menschen aus unserer Stadt und aus der Region eine große Freude bereiten. Gerne habe ich für diese Veranstaltung die Schirmherrschaft übernommen.
Ich danke allen, die an der Organisation beteiligt sind für das große Engagement und wünsche dem internationalen Musikfestival ein gutes Gelingen und viele bereichernde Begegnungen unter Freundinnen und Freunden der Musik.
Jülich is a city with a rich cultural offering. Music in its various forms is a natural part of it. Our music school, clubs, choirs, bands, and music ensembles provide numerous opportunities to actively experience the joy of music.
I am very pleased that the VOX MUSICAE International Festival and Academy will take place in Jülich from July 20 to August 3, 2025. Young musicians from all over the world, as well as faculty from the best orchestras in Europe, will be our guests. Under the artistic direction of Prof. Stefan Palm, they will rehearse together and showcase their skills in various concerts. Through their performances, they will bring great joy to the people from our city and the surrounding region. I am happy to have taken on the patronage for this event.
